Colin is a new researcher at UCLouvain and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science. The objective of his research project is the application of high performance networking and vectorization technologies to cyber security. More precisely, his goal is to optimize the speed of packet and flow analysis tasks using a single machine with many cores running on a Linux kernel. However, using a many-core machine creates new issues, such as the speed of non-uniform memory access. Therefore, he is looking into these issues to find solutions to maximize the performance of real-time data analysis. His work during his next years of research will therefore aim at strengthening the security of users and organizations by improving the detection of threats. organizations by improving the detection of threats and attacks on larger network larger network areas with more efficient tools.
