Dr. Valéry Ramon is the head of Model-Based Engineering and Distributed Systems (MBEDIS) Department of CETIC. He received from the UCLouvain, the Electrical Engineering degree in 2001 and the PhD degree in Applied Sciences in 2007. After his PhD, Valéry worked three years at IMEC (R&D center in Leuven, Belgium) as a senior researcher in wireless communications, especially in digital signal processing for several communication standards (3GPP LTE, WPAN 60 GHz, …). He joined CETIC in 2010 as a senior project manager and then as deputy head of Embedded and Communicating Systems Department. In 2019, he moved to the MBEDIS department. He is notably involved in building, managing and contributing to various Walloon and European research projects, in particular in the transport/logistics application domain. His main area of expertise is system and software engineering, especially in requirement engineering and model-based engineering techniques and their application throughout the development lifecycle of distributed (cloud) systems and cyber-physical systems. He is also involved in research transfer activities with local companies, necessitating such an expertise.
